My last suggestion was Thr3e by Ted Dekker, and I hope you were able to check it out. This reading suggestion is for a YA fantasy series that for me rivals some adult fantasy series. I found this book series on accident as I was searching in the YA adult section for another YA fantasy series suggested to me while I was substitute teaching by some of the students. To be honest, I don't know how I ended up in the F section when I was trying to locate the R section. This is a series that I have read the books at least twice and go back to when I am waiting for a book to come in. It is hard to have just one favorite character and the world is built well. The series follows the characters from age 15 all the way to their mid-30's at least. For me, you can't go wrong with The Ranger's Apprentice Series by John Flanagan.

The first book, The Ruins of Gorlan, introduces you to four orphans all looking for a place in the world. Will, who is the main character of the story, is a gangly 15 year-old with dreams of joining Knights training. However, there is another, stranger character that has his eyes on Will, Halt, a King's Ranger. Will decides to join the King's Ranger and is assigned to Halt for training.

The books are full of adventure, humor, and heartfelt moments. And do not think that John Flanagan didn't include some strong and feisty female characters as well. The books are fun, quick reads and will transport you to another world.
