You know when you become so focused on trying to complete one task that another, totally unrelated thing pops into your head. Well, that is what happened to me yesterday. I have been so focused on a new writing project, trying to tie in all the bits and pieces I have written over the past months, that my mind wandered. To be honest, my current project used to be the project I would turn to when I needed a distraction from my other works in progress.
Anyway, I am getting sidetracked, which isn't hard for me. Oh, look a butterfly!
While walking with my dog, I had this wonderful idea of writing not one, but two different children's book series. Pictures and plots danced in my head with every step that I took. One series would be set in space and the other in a far off land. It is never too early to get kids hooked on science fiction and fantasy books.
As I write this, I have three first drafts finished and more ideas written down. Nothing may come of them, but it is a nice thought to have that maybe you could write a book to influence kids to embrace science and imagination.
